About Us & Our History
Founded in 2016, Cowork Salida started in a small 3-person office at the old Sherman Hotel building at 123 G St. in downtown Salida. The concept grew, thus requiring us to move into a larger office in the same building, and subsequently into multiple offices.
In the summer of 2019, we moved into our current location at 230 East 1st St which was previously a kids daycare. Jokingly, we now call it an adult daycare! Look closely and you'll see some remnants of the previous business.
Membership continued to flourish and we reached our max capacity of 24 memberships by the end of 2019. Then the pandemic happened. Membership dropped by over half nearly overnight and our community was on the brink of folding. With help from multiple parties (many of whom were members who braced the storm), we cobbled through and came out together on the other side. We are forever indebted to these individuals.
Since the recovery, we've operated at near max capacity and have opened a 2nd location in March 2026! We've listened to the needs of the members and the community, resulting in a centrally located space with more open area, comfortable lounge area to socialize, yet also feature more private options for when work needs to be done. Come visit this new location at 301 Oak St., Salida.
